Robert Dulau, chief curator of French Heritage, and Pascal Mory, architectural historian, are the curators of the exhibition Torres y rascacielos. De Babel a Dubai (Towers and skyscrapers. From Babel to Dubai) which opens tomorrow, Thursday in CaixaForum.
In this inaugural conference they will talk about the irresistible fascination that humanity has had on building ever higher buildings. From the myth of the Tower of Babel to the appearance of the first skyscraper in the United States, in 1850, the model has been replicated throughout the world in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
Currently, the tallest building is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai inaugurated in 2010, with its 828 meters height and 162 floors.
