Poetry slam is a movement based on tournaments of poets who face a jury selected from the audience. In 2010 was created the Poetry Slam Mallorca, one of the pioneer slams with reference in Spain, and now will be celebrated the I International Poetry Slam of Palma.
It is a cultural project based on the scenery and show of the word with the participation of eight poets reciting for five minutes, including the current National Poetry Slam champion in Spain, Dante Alarido, and World Poetry Slam runner-up in 2012, Marcal Font Espí.
The eight poets and the languages in which they recite are: Irene la Sen. (Castilian), Selma Montana (German), Tobias Kunze (German), Saiban (French), Mirko (French), James Miele Sciabba (English), Dante Alarido (Castilian) and Marcal Font Espí (Catalan).
