This cycle of lectures is held within the parallel activities that accompany the exhibition Torres y rascacielos. De Babel a Dubai, (Towers and skyscrapers From Babel to Dubai), which can be seen at Caixa Forum until May 26.
Coordinated by Javier Quintana Uña, it’s aimed to identify the common places that transcend eras and ensure the continuity of the phenomenon, as well as analyzing its contemporary update by the hand of four experts.
The titles of the lectures are:
09.04.2013: The dream of European skyscrapers. By Javier Quintana Uña, architect and director of IE School of Architecture and Design.
16.04.2013: The air villas. By Miguel Angel Alonso del Val, project architect and professor of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra (ETSAUN).
23.04.2013: Architectures of the sky. By Javier Perez Herreras, architect and head of projects at the University of Zaragoza.
30.04.2013: Why vertical? By Anthony Wood, architect, associate professor of the Illinois Institute of Technology and director of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat in Chicago.
