Within the program Cine y Actualidad 2013-14 the University of the Balearic Islands offers the program Albert Camus en la pantalla (Albert Camus on the screen), a series of films about the life and works of the French writer Albert Camus, of whom this year marks the centenary of his birth.
The writer was born on November 5, 1913 in Algeria, when the country was a French colony. And he died in a tragic car accident in the French Provence on January 4, 1960, three years after receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Among the projections of the cycle stands out the documentary Amour de vivre, directed by Luis Ortas and written by Joana Mas. Counts through numerous testimonies, the Menorcan origins of Camus and in parallel the migrations from Menorca to Algeria in the early twentieth century. It is filmed in Algeria, Paris, the French Provence, Barcelona and Menorca.
