The Catalan writer Cristina Fernández Cubas is responsible for providing the inaugural lecture of the penultimate thematic block of the extensive cycle entitled Encontrar la palabra (Find the word), organized by the Servei d’Activitat Culturals (Cultural Activities) of the University of the Balearic Islands.
De dónde vienen los cuentos (Where do the stories come from) is the title of this conference by Cristina Fernández Cubas, who was released in 1980 with the story book Mi hermana Elba (My sister Elba). She is the author of novels such as El año de gracia (The year of grace), El columpio (The swing), the play Hermanas de sangre (Blood Sisters), the book of memoirs Cosas que ya no existen (Things that no longer exist), and a biography of Emilia Pardo Bazán, among other works.
