A documentary film by the Swedish director Fredrik Gertten reflecting on freedom of speech, press and the importance of telling the truth. Gertten narrates the legal and psychological persecution to which he was subjected by the multinational Dole Food Company when he released his film Bananas!, in which he follows step by step the lawsuit of twelve Nicaraguan workers against the powerful American fruit company
This film was selected for competition at the Film Festival of Los Angeles in 2009, although later the organization decided to withdraw it from competition, allegedly under pressure from the multinational. And that is the core of the film, documenting the harassment and intimidation tactics to his production company and the manipulation of the media by the Dole Food Company to protect its image.
