This American jazz fusion quartet was originally formed in 1977 called The Robben Ford Group. In 1981 they changed their name and style, calling themselves Yellowjackets and oriented towards rhythm and blues. They arrive in Mallorca to perform at the XII Jazz Voyeur Festival with a concert held in Es Gremi.
Since then the formation has been changing and currently there are two original members, the keyboardist Russell Ferrante and the drummer William Kennedy. The band has published 30 albums, the last one being titled aising our Voice (2018), which have meant 17 Grammy Awards nominations getting two awards.
All this makes the Yellowjackets one of the most influential and most beloved jazz groups in the world of jazz fusion.
Russell Ferrante (keyboard), Bob Mintzer (saxophone), Dane Alderson (bass) and William Kennedy (drums). Kennedy will also hold a Master Class.
The XII Jazz Voyeur Festival is held from October to December and programs six concerts, four screenings, five Master Classes and a Q&A session (questions and answers) with Martirio.
