Mallorcan folk group Esclafits i Castanyetes organizes this exhibition of traditional dances now in its eighteenth edition. This year it has the performance of the dance group Tío Lobito Villa Turegano (Segovia), which takes its name from a famous paloteo.
The paloteo is an ancient dance that simulates the struggle between Moors and Christians (although its origins are in the pagan rites) using sticks. It is usually performed by eight dancers forming couples.
