XIII Festa del Vi Novell

This festival has been celebrated since 2003 to promote the wine from Santa Maria del Cami, with a large winemaking tradition. The festival starts with the arrival at the square of the village, of the carrier of the pine branches, which are delivered to the warehouses of the village, to hang at the top of their main portal. This is an old custom to announce the start of the sale of novel wine.

Thursday 26:
Delivery of the badge Brot de Pi in recognition of the support and promotion of wine from Santa Maria del Cami to Benita Jaume Fiol for his struggle in maintaining the Via santamariera and to Tomeu Caldentey, first Mallorcan chef to get the Michelin star for his restaurant Es Molí d'en Bou. 12:00 h.

Friday 27:
Tasting of wines from Santa Maria del Cami by the sommelier Toni Vich 19:00 h.

Saturday 28:
Train route and visit to local wineries.
Departure: 9:30 a.m.:
Train 1: visit to the Bodegues Macia Batle, Petit Celler Sebastià Pastor and Bodega Ramanyà.
Train 2: visit to Celler Son Crespi, Bodegues Angel, Bodega Ca'n Ruby and Celler Jaume de Puntiró.

Departure at 11:30 a.m.:
Train 1: visit to Celler Son Crespi, Bodegues Angel, Bodega Ca'n Ruby and Celler Jaume de Puntiró.
Train 2: visit to the Bodegues Macia Batle, Petit Celler Sebastià Pastor and Bodega Ramanyà.

19:00 h.:
Opening of the exhibition Cooperativa Falset-Marçà: Un segle, mil històries. This cooperative winery is invited in this year's edition of the Festival del Vi Novell. Location: Ca s'Apotecari.

20:30 h.:
Festa del Vi Novell XIII Proclamation by writer Biel Mesquida from Santa Maria. Symphonic act of the delivery of pine branches to the winemakers. In collaboration with the Association of Pensioners and Retired and accompanied by xeremiers.

Offering of the vintners of Santa Maria del Cami and twinning with the Cooperativa Falset-Marçà of Tarragona. The authorities closed the tap of the barrel of wine to symbolize that the new wine is already running.
