The Library of the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, celebrates World Book Day with a series of activities during the 22 and 23 April, including the sight of two of the books illustrated by Joan Miró, which form part of the collection of the center.
Under the name Lapidari, llibre de les propietats de les pedres, Miró joined together a series of twelve etchings and twelve aquatints and etchings. Once these prints were done, along with Catalan writer Pere Gimferrer, the Catalan artist prepared the edition as an artist's book with a collection of eleven anonymous Catalan texts from the fifteenth-century selected and prefaced by the writer.
Maravillas con variaciones acrósticas en el jardín de Miró (Wonders with acrostic variations in the garden Miró) is a book written by the poet and writer Rafael Alberti illustrated with 22 lithographs by Joan Miró. Besides seeing this book, the public will have access to some of the letters that the artist and the writer remained around this project.
