The Royal Basilica of Sant Francesc de Palma organizes this series of free concerts held from 5 to 9 May with the presence of internationally renowned organists.
Concerts scheduled:
Monday 5: Orchestra of the Conservatory Superior de les Illes Balears, directed byAlfredo Oyagüez. Soloist: Olivier Latry. Program: End of the 2nd symphony (Louis Vierne), Fantasmagorie (Jehan Alain), Alleluias sereins d'une âme qui désire le Ciel (Oliver Messiaen), Prelude and Fugue in G minor (Marcel Dupré), Concerto for organ and orchestra (Francis Poulenc) and Meditation (Antonio Martorell).
Tuesday 6: Olivier Latry (France) and Lee Shin -Young (South Korea). Concert tribute to Jean -Louis Florentz, one of the most important contemporary composers of organ disappeared in 2004.
Wednesday 7: Willibald Guggenmos (Switzerland). The program will include pieces by Bach, Oquin, Lux, Paul Maleingreau, Aloys Claussmann and Mistero della cena by Antoni Martorell.
Thursday 8: Rafael Riera (Mallorca). Pieces by Bach, Duruflé, Sibelius, Elgar, Guilmant and the Mallorcans Antoni Martorell, Antoni Torrandell and Antoni Mairata. This last composer of only 20 years, will interpret Nostalgie.
Friday 9: Eberhard Lauer (Germany). Program: Ecstasy (Antoni Martorell), creations of Bach, Messiaen, Vierne and his own composition entitled Improvisació lliure.
