'Winds of antiquity I'

The cycle Musica Antiga continues with this concert directed by Salvador Sebastià in which will participate the instrumental group of the Municipal Band of Palma, five opera singers (Marta Colom, Frédérique Sizaret, Irene Gili, Abigail Sardon and Alvaro Chaves) and an actor (Bernat Sierra Grimalt).

The program consists of: Canzona a tres Coros by Giovanni Gabrielli (1563-1612); Gia il sole dalgange canzona, by Alessandro Scarlatti (1649-1725), with tenor Alvaro Chaves; 'Svegliatevi nel core', from the opera Giulio Cesare, by GF Handel (1685-1759), with mezzo-soprano Marta Colom; 'Tornami a Vaghegiar' from the opera Alcina, by GF Handel (1685-1759), with soprano Irene Gili; Caro mio ben canzona, by Giordiano Giuseppe (1751-1798), with tenor Alvaro Chaves; Fuga 'alla giga' BWV 577, by JS Bach (1685-1750) / M. Rondeau; 'When I am laid', from the opera Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell (1659-1698), with mezzo-soprano Frédérique Sizaret; 'Let the bright Seraphim' from the opera Samson, by GF Handel (1659-1698), with soprano Abigail Sardon; 'They are born to lagrimar', opera Giulio Cesare by GF Handel (1659-1698), with mezzo Marta Colom and Frédérique Sizaret; Abdelazer or revenge of the Moor of Henry Purcell (1659-1698), incidental music for the play by Aphra Ben, with dramatized reading of Bernat Sierra Grimalt.
