A group of Mallorcan professionals have joined to stage a cycle based on works by Russian writer Anton Chekhov (Taganrog, 1860-Badenweiler, 1904) under the generic title of Jardí desolat (Desolate garden), which Joan Alcover (1854-1926 ), Mallorcan poet, essayist and politician, alluded to in the poem La relíquia (The relic).
Vania, the show they put on at the Fira de Teatre de Manacor, is an adaptation of one of the finest works of Chekhov, Uncle Vanya. Directed by Josep Ramon Cerda, is played by Guillem Simó, Maria Bauçà, Torrens and Eva Miquel Torras.
