The Dutch Quartet Utrecht String Quartet closes the XL Deià International Music Festival with this concert in which they are accompanied on piano by Alfredo Oyaguez Montero, artistic director of the festival.
Utrecht String Quartet is characterized by its versatile and dynamic style with a very eclectic repertoire. In this concert they perform works by Turina, Granados, Shostakovich and Piazzolla.
The Deià International Music Festival has been held since 1978 in the music room of Son Marroig, one of the former properties of Archduke Luis Salvador in the Tramuntana mountains of Mallorca. It was created by the now defunct Patrick Meadows, jazz musician and poet, and his partner Stephanie Shepard. Since a few years, the artistic direction falls on the pianist Alfredo Oyagüez Montero.
It is dedicated to chamber music, although it also includes proposals for styles such as jazz or flamenco.
