Welcome to my country: el país de los refugiados ( the country of refugees) is the title of the documentary directed by filmmaker Fernando Leon de Aranoa and filmed in the refugee camps of UNHCR in Ethiopia with the participation of actress Elena Anaya, who won the Goya for Best Actress in 2012.
It opens in Palma on the occasion of the World Day of Refugees, at an event organized by the Red Cross, which will be attended by Joana Socias(Inca, 1979), journalist and politicóloga specialized in East Africa.
The aim of the film is to raise awareness on the situation of the 45 million displaced persons and refugees by conflicts and persecution in the world. It was filmed in the camps of Dollo Ado and Assosa, in the southwest and west of Ethiopia.
