At age 87, and retired from concert halls since 2008, the Austrian Alfred Brendel (Vizmberk, Czechoslovakia, 1931) is considered among the ten best pianists of all time by Limelight magazine, after a vote made to young people and consecrated pianists.
Referent for his interpretations and writings on Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Liszt, Busoni and Schönberg, Brendel is a brilliant musician and essayist who gives his talks the expressive originality that characterize his piano performances.
Alfred Brendel arrives in Majorca within the Ciclo de Grandes Pianistas (Cycle of Great Pianists) to talk with his wit and irony about Schubert's latest sonatas (with subtitles in Spanish). A special meeting where the viewer can interact with one of the most important piano figures of our century.
The Cycle of Great Pianists is organized by the European Music Foundation, led by pianists Oscar Caravaca and Man Minnie Ho.
