A triple concert on a night where flamenco is the protagonist, on the one hand, the trio of Jorge Pardo (sax), Carles Benavent (bass) and Tino Di Geraldo (drums) with an imaginative proposal of fusion between jazz, flamenco and Mediterranean music.
The essence of miscegenation is represented by Mixed Lobo, a formation led by Juan Diego (flamenco guitar) and Jorge Gomez (guitar). They are accompanied by Ignacio Cintado (bass) and Juan Peña El Chispa (drums) and will present their latest album, Frontera.
The icing will be put by young saxophonist Antonio Lizana, acclaimed by critics at the Jazz Festival in San Sebastian by his peculiar way of fusing flamenco-jazz.
The performance is part of Flamenco is Time, a musical cycle that takes place in Palma de Mallorca during the months of July and August to promote flamenco culture. This festival is celebrated also in Oslo, with a program of concerts the months of September, November and December 2013. Flamenco was declared by UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010.
Besides concerts, the cycle also includes master classes and photo exhibitions (see schedule on the festival website).
