Andoni Monforte directs this documentary that tells the harsh working conditions in the tiger nut fields that exist in Africa, while uncovering a supposed corruption plot of the world's largest tiger nut importer, the Valencian company Tigernuts Traders. The demand for tiger nut has skyrocketed in recent years after being listed as a superfood in the Western world.
Admitted at 23 International Festivals (including Amnesty International in France), Tigernut. La patria de las mujeres íntegras (2018) has so far won the prize for best documentary at festivals in Hungary, the United States, Ecuador and at the Bristol Independent Film Fest. It is projected in original version with subtitles in Spanish.
