The World Orchestra & Ginesa Ortega

His young orchestra is inspired by the vision of two great pioneers: Sir Robert Mayer (1879-1985), German philanthropist who in the 20's began promoting concerts for young classical musicians and the conductor and composer Igor Markievich, who by the end of the Second World War set up the first international orchestras as a symbol of hope for the future.

Since 2004 The World Orchestra is directed by Josep Vicent, who has revived the project offering concerts of his young musicians in places such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Orford Festival or the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, among others. In 2009, the orchestra and its director were appointed cultural ambassadors "of the Foundation Culture of Peace headed by Federico Mayor Zaragoza. Since January 2013 Josep Vicent is titular director of the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears 'Ciutat de Palma'.

In this concert they perform with the singer Ginesa Ortega, one of the most valued voices within the current flamenco scene. Born in France of Spanish parents, also notable for her great versatility, that made her come closer to the world of jazz, classical music, experimental electronic music and theater, collaborating on projects of the Catalan company La Fura dels Baus.

Among her recordings are the original singer version of  El amor brujo  by Manuel de Falla, which became an international success and won numerous awards. The work is part of the program of this concert along with the premiere of  La calaca, by Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz, and the  7th Symphony by L. van Beethoven.
