'The Spanish Violoncello'

The XXXVIII International Music Festival of Deià serves as the presentation of the CD El violonchelo español  (the Spanish cello) for the Delos label. Featuring Andrew Smith (cello) and Alfredo Oyagüez Montero (piano). They perform works by Granados, Cassado, Montsalvatge, Turina and Manuel de Falla.

The International Music Festival of Deià, with artistic direction of pianist Alfredo Oyagüez, held from May until late September at the Music Hall of Son Marroig, an old country estate nestled on the coast of Deia, in the Sierra Tramuntana, which belonged to Archduke Luis Salvador. Today it is a museum dedicated to his figure.

In between each concert you can enjoy spectacular views over the sea from its magnificent terrace.
