For centuries, Mallorca was the victim of continuous raids by pirates who plundered the coasts. Therefore, an important system of fortifications was built of which there are still good examples. They were buildings of which the keepers were in charge, a profession that disappeared with the introduction of new technologies.
Around the exhibition No hi ha temps que no torni (There are no times that won’t come back), which can be seen in the History Museum of Manacor until May5, this conference is held on the office of keeper in Mallorca. It will be conducted by Angel Aparicio, Chairman of the Group for the Study of the Balearic Fortifications.
