It is a fairy tale-ballet in two acts and three scenes composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Russia, 1840-1893), who put music to the adaptation that Alexander Dumas (the father) did to the story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, by Ernest Hoffmann. In Europe, it has become the most popular of all ballets, mainly represented Christmas.
