This children's opera, with music by Benjamin Britten and libretto by Eric Crozier in English, is a production of the Teatre Principal de Palma in collaboration with the Conservatory of Music in Mallorca. The Little Sweep was premiered at the Aldeburgh Festival (England) in June 1949 and is the second part of a stage production called Let's Make an Opera, with which Britten intended to familiarize children with this genre.
The assembly which is now presented features musical direction by Fernando Marina and stage direction by Carles Pujols. Interpreters: Inma Hidalgo, Catalina Bonet, Roger Berenguer, Juan Gabriel Roig, Frederic Vaquer, Maria Rossselló, Sílvia Domínguez, Auba Huguet, Mercè Martorell, Paula Riera and Aroa Sánchez.
