The Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears and the Teatre Principal join forces to put on stage The flood of Noah by Benjamin Britten, one of the most appreciated pieces of contemporary opera. Britten wrote this work in 1957 and was released in 1958 in the English city of Suffolk within the Aldeburgh Festival.
It is based on a medieval text of the fifteenth century and tells the biblical passage where Jehovah, angry with men, decides to purify the earth with a great flood and decides to save Noah, the only righteous man.
The interpretation will feature the Cor Juvenil of the Teatro Principal and Acadèmia Simfònica. Musical direction by Pablo Mielgo and stage direction by Carles Pujols.
