They are a living legend of post-punk as demonstrated by their successful passage through the Primavera Sound festival held in Barcelona in June this year. Created in 1981, their atmospheric pop can be considered the reverse of The Cure. Originally from Middleton, a town near Manchester (UK), with singer Mark Burgess and drummer John Lever, the current lineup is completed by three guitarists and a bassist.
The group invited is Gran Sol, the Mallorcan band reaching the Festival Alternatilla coinciding with the release of their latest album, entitled Gran Sol (Primeros Pasitos) which is third in their discography. The quartet is formed byNaomi Garcies (vocals and ukulele), Rafael Adrover (guitar), Sebastian Rossello (bass) and Angel Rios (drums).
The group emerged in 2009 from the ashes of Demonio Sanchez, a Mallorcan cult band in the 90s. That same year they won the contest Sonopalma and in 2011they were finalists in Demo Project, organized by Radio 3 and Benicàssim International Festival.
