Susanne Herzog, violin, and Alexander Malter, piano, inaugurate this year's edition of the Classical Music Festival Port de Sóller with a concert in which they will perform works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johannes Brahms, Edvard Grieg.
Herzog is of German nationality and since 1989 member and second concertmaster of the Berlin Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester. She also performs as a chamber musician and acts as a violinist with the Gideon Klein.
The pianist Alexander Malter was born in Moscow, but has lived in Germany since 1991. He offers concerts as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician. Since 2005 he is the artistic director of this festival held annually in Port de Sóller.
He is an artist who is very much in demand. His particular repertoire includes, apart from works of his compatriots Tschaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Skyrabin, Bach, Haydn, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin and Liszt, as well as contemporary music.
