Binissalem is famous for its vineyards and for giving its name to a Denomination of Origin that includes five municipalities of wine growers. In this Fair all the wineries with DO Binissalem will be involved and there will be tastings, demonstrations related to grape harvesting, grape contests, parades, etc.
The program this year is very comprehensive and covers more than two weeks in which one can see exhibitions, attend concerts, mircroteatro performances, poetry readings, book presentations and all kinds of celebrations that revolve around the harvest.
For its more popular character, stand out an open air dinner and lunch in which the protagonist is a very traditional dish on these days, the fideus de vermar (harvest noodles), a very old and tasty recipe made with mutton.
One of the most colorful events of this celebration in honor of Dionysus is the grape-treading competition, in which participants are dressed with a white camisole, the tipical costume of this activity. There will also be a rural running race on the dirt tracks among the vineyards of the winery José Luis Ferrer. The full program in PDF.
