This concert is dedicated to the different sounds of the cello, bringing together the most representative professionals of this instrument in the area of the Balearic Islands. It is part of the II Trobada de Violoncels organized by la Escola Municipal de Música de Palma.
Starring cellists Emmanuel Bleusse, Miquel Àngel Aguiló, Rosa Cardona, Oriol Palau. Fuensanta Martínez, Esteban Belinchón, Dmitri Struchkov, Neus Tamayo, Miquela Gayà, Andrea Martí and Raquel Quiroga.
The program is composed of Misa pro defunctis, from Orlando di Lasso; Sicilienne, by Maria Theresia von Paradis; Sicilienne, by Pietro Mascagni; Aria of Pastorale BWV 590, by Johann Sebastian Bach; Chanson triste, by P.I.Tchaikovsky; Libertango, by Astor Piazolla; Concerto per a 2 violoncels in G minor, RV 531, by Antonio Vivaldi; Ostinat Amazònic (premiere for the II Trobada de violoncels), by Miquel Àngel Aguiló; and Uptown Funk, by Mark Ronson / Bruno Mars.
