New concert of the Fira de la Música de Manacor with Saxophobia Funk Project. This formation was created in the summer of 2011, under the name Saxophobia Quartet but after several live concerts this saxophone quartet decided to incorporate other instruments to experience new horizons: electric guitar, drums and bass. They have released a first album, On air.
They are: Cristian Sorribas (alto sax), Alberto Moreno (tenor sax), Miquel Marquet (drums), Juan Monserrat (electric guitar), Miquel Marquet (Battery) and Joel Rodenas (bass).
Their style is a kind of jazz heavily influenced by funk, with covers of classics like Duke Elligton or Maceo Parker, among others.
The event takes place on the edge of the Rambla Rei En Jaume and is part of the Manacor Music Fair, organized by the Culture area of the City Council. It is held from December 2 to 6 and programs conferences, round tables, concerts and a swing day.
