The Patron Saint festival of Alaró, are celebrated all throughout the week preceding the 16th of August. This day commemorates the eradication of the plague in the 17th century by the miraculous intervention of Sant Roc (Saint Roque), answering the prayers of the parishioners.
For one week, the village enjoys numerous leisure and cultural activities. There is a parade of chariots and of the giants Cabrit y Bassa, in addition to the popular racings de joies (jewelry racings). These horse races are called this way in allusion to the jewels that dangled on the green canes that in the past the price winners received as an award.
