After years calling in various places around the world, the exhibition Sam Shaw. The photographer of the stars arrives in Mallorca at the La Misericordia Cultural Center in Palma organized by the Mallorca Film Commission. Dedicated to the New York photographer, internationally recognized for his photos of film and movie stars, shows Sam Shaw's prolific six-decade career(1912 - 1999) and occupies the four floors of this exhibition space.
The ground floor hosts a monographic about Marilyn Monroe, with some of the most iconic images of the actress (and twentieth-century Hollywood). The first floor is a collection of images that claim the figure of Shaw as a film producer, with films such as Paris Blues (1961), A Woman Under the Influence (1974), Gloria (1980) or Love Streams (1984).
In the second one are the photographs of Shaw to great stars of the cinema, like Marlon Brando, John Wayne or Warren Beatty, among many others. Finally, on the third floor are exhibited the photographs of Shaw as a
photojournalist documenting American life during the 40ties, creating a collection of incredible images.
