This Cuban pianist is one of the best ambassadors of tradition and modernity of Afro-Cuban sounds. Roberto Fonseca arrives at Alternatilla Jazz in Mallorca with a trio format accompanied by Ruly Herrera (drums) and Yandy Martinez (bass).
Belonging to a family of musicians, Roberto Fonseca (Havana, 1975) was the new artist at the International Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana when he was only 15 years. Since then, his career is full of milestones: successor of the great master Ruben Gonzalez in the prestigious orchestra of Ibrahim Ferrer, participation in Buena Vista Social Club, duo with Omara Portuondo and the 2014 summer tour with singer Fatoumata Diawara (the album At Home is the result of this tour), are some of them.
The repertoire of this concert will revolve around his album Yesun (2019), which combines all kinds of music, from jazz and classical music to rap or funk.
