This Cuban pianist is one of the best ambassadors of tradition and modernity of Afro-Cuban sounds. He arrives at Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla 2015 with a trio format accompanied by Ramses Rodriguez (drums) and Yandy Martinez (bass).
Belonging to a family of musicians, Roberto Fonseca (Havana, 1975) was the new artist at the International Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana when he was only 15 years. Since then, his career is full of milestones: successor of the great master Ruben Gonzalez in the prestigious orchestra of Ibrahim Ferrer, participation in Buena Vista Social Club, duo with Omara Portuondo and the 2014 summer tour with singer Fatoumata Diawara (the album At Home is the result of this tour), are some of them.
Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla 2015 will be held from August 4 to 8 to program five concerts, the international jazz seminar by the Traveling School of Jimmy Weinstein and an exhibition of illustrations by Jaume Salvadiego. Also the MenJazz, a gastronomic initiative in which collaborate the bars and restaurants of the Plaça Major of Sa Pobla.
