'Mythological and love stories. From madrigal to opera'

Ànima Art Ensemble takes us back to the 17th century through this proposal with a selection of vocal duets and instrumental pieces composed, for the most part, by C. Monteverdi and H. Purcell.

Two composers who illustrate the shift from pagan madrigals, songs and dances to more complex genres already include theatrical performance, such as entremeses, mascaradas and early operas.

From madrigal to opera is performed by Aina Martínez (soprano), Irina Cotseli (soprano), Sebastià Pou (violin and viola), Enrique Sánchez (flute), Bruno Lucas (oboe), Pedro Barceló (lute and percussions), Christian Hoel Skjonhaug (double bass) and Jaume Tomàs (harpsichord).
