This wind quintet was formed at the Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya in 2008, and has since picked up several awards including the Standing Competition Young Performers of Musical Youth of Spain. Its name is a tribute to the Cuban pianist Ivet Frontela, with whom they will play together for the first time.
Their repertoire is broad and diverse with special attention to contemporary music, having premiered works by young composers like Raquel García Tomás or Ximo Tarin, who composed works expressly for Quintet Frontela. In this concert act with pianist Joan Sureda.
The event is part of the II International Music Vila of Santanyí Festival.
