Joan M. Albinyana directs the adaptation of this production based on the original novel by Jorge Amado A Morte e a Morte de Quincas Berro d'agua, translated into Catalan by Gabriel de la S.T. Sampol.
The work speaks of the inexorable destiny of people and was considered by the composer Vinicius de Moraes as the best short novel of Brazilian literature.
