Mares limpios. Cambia la marea del plástico (Clean seas Change the tide of the plastic) is the slogan of the third edition of the Premios La mar de ciencia, a contest for young artists interested in science and the sea. It is aimed at children and young people between 5 and 17 years old from all over Spain, who can participate by presenting videos, drawings and stories from March 20 to May 21, 2019.
The objective of this contest is to bring marine sciences to the youngest and raise awareness about the importance of scientific research for conservation of the oceans. As a novelty, this edition allows the individual and group participation of students with special educational needs.
The winners will enjoy a scientific weekend in the Balearic Islands to know the research carried out by the centers of the CSIC, participate in a campaign of the SOCIB and visit the Parque Nacional Marítimo-Terrestre del Archipiélago de Cabrera. The classes that present the best videos will be awarded with a digital board.
