This year's festival is dedicated to the memory of Mallorcan poet Bartomeu Rosselló-Pòrcel (1913 - 1938), of whom this year marks the centenary of his birth. Despite his early death due to tuberculosis, he is a key figure of Catalan literature of the first half of the twentieth century.
The XV Festival of Poetry of the Mediterranean begins Tuesday June 4 at the newly created Centre de Poesia Contemporània Blai Bonet, hosting a concert presented by writer Biel Mesquida and involving poets from different origins.
