Piano recital by Andreu Riera

Andreu Riera is one of the most significant and outstanding pianists of Spain, winner of major international piano competitions and regular in the programming of the most important festivals in the world. Last January he entered the Acadèmia Reial de Belles Arts de Sant Sebastia.

Born in Manacor, he studied music in the Escolanía de Llluc singing with the famous blauets, later he moved to Madrid where he completed his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music. He was part of the chamber group Manon, with which he has toured Europe, and regularly collaborates with the Image Ensemble, Trio Kandinsky or the choir Studium Aureum, among other formations.

This concert offers a repertoire of pieces by Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms and Chopin. The event is part of the First International Music Festival organized by the Fundació Àrea de Creació Acústica (ACA), which is dedicated to the great masters of transcendental music. It consists of five concerts to be held until 28 June at the Teatre Principal.

Nacido en Manacor, realizó sus estudios musicales en la Escolanía de Llluc cantando con los famosos blauets, trasladándose más tarde a Madrid donde realizó sus estudios superiores en el Real Conservatorio Superior de Música. Ha formado parte del grupo de cámara Manon, con el que ha realizado giras por Europa, y colabora habitualmente con el Image Ensemble, el Trío Kandinsky o la formación coral Studium Aureum, entre otras formaciones.

En este concierto ofrece un repertorio de piezas de Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms y Chopin. La cita forma parte del I Festival Internacional de Música organizado por la Fundació Àrea de Creació Acústica (ACA), que está dedicado a los grandes maestros de la música trascendental. Consta de cinco conciertos que se celebrarán hasta el 28 de junio en el Teatre Principal.
