Petit presents '14 +1. Llenya Prima'

This new work of the Mallorcan quartet led by Joan Castells is the result of collaboration with the group of entrepreneurs and cultural managers Blowing Buffalo and has been made possible by the Catalan crowdfunding platform of proyectos Verkami.

14 +1. Llenya Prima  includes on a CD and a booklet the work of selected emerging poets and illustrators of Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands, with the music of Petit as the guideline for the word and image.

Fourteen poems by Pau Gener, Joan Duran, Jaume Pons Alorda, Pau Vadell, Anna Gual, Pau Sif, Esteve Plantada, Mireia Calafell, Mercè Climent, Blancallum Vidal, Anna Cortils, Estel Solé, Maria Cabrera and Laia Noguera.

Those responsible of illustrating the poems have been Maria Alcaraz, Mar Oliver, Albert Pinya, Marc Pallarès, Maria Diamantes, Lara Costafreda, Joana Santamans, Pau Bonet, Riki Blanco, Tòfol Pons, Maria Herreros, Laura Castelló, Sara Peñalver and Markel Urrutia.

Joan Castells, fan of Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen, surprised in 2008 with his album Loveshines Firefly, which rose to the forefront of the music scene on the island. Later he released an EP with four tracks, 4songs, of which the first edition sold out in the presentation concert and which was re-edited in 2011 with the title The Blackbird Daisy EP.

Integrate Petit Joan Castells (vocals and guitars), Juanjo Tur (bass and accordion), Antoni Beltran (drums) and Toni Sánchez (piano and rhodes).
