Paco Ibáñez, a standard bearer of protest songs

Born in Valencia (1934) from a Basque father and Valencian mother, his family was exiled to Paris after the Spanish Civil War. In the early 50's he discovered the music of Georges Brassens and Atahualpa Yupanqui. Censored during the Franco era, he is a standard bearer of protest songs and known for his cover versions of poems from Luis de Gongora y García Lorca.

Paco Ibanez concert is part of the program of festivities celebrating Sant Roc Porreres 2012.
