Israelean director Lior Shambadal (Tel Aviv, 1950) directs this eighth concert of the 2013-2014 season of the orchestra 'Ciutat de Palma' held at the Auditorium of Palma.
The program consists of three pieces by Rimsky-Korsakov: Russian Easter Overture, Capriccio Espagnol and Scheherezade. Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908) was a Russian composer, conductor and pedagogue member of the group of composers known as The Five or The Big Handful. The group met in St. Petersburg between 1856 and 1870 and intended to create a specific type of music in Russia, with no trace of European influences.
