The official orchestra of the Balearics offers this benefit concert for the Assamblea de Docents, which maintains its protest against cuts and education policy conducted by the regional government.
The first part of the concert include The Barber of Seville, Rossini, Hungarian Dance No. 5, J. Brahms, Lightning and thunder, of J. Strauss, and Happy Wives of Windsor, O. Nicolai.
The second part is dedicated to the Symphony No. 9 E minor op. 95 by Dvorak, known as the New World Symphony. Antonín Dvorak composed this work between January 10 and May 24, 1893, during his stay in the United States as director of the National Conservatory of Music of America in New York (from 1892-1895).
