Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem K.626 is one of the greatest choral symphonic works ever written. All the mystery that surrounds its gestation, already in the last days of the Austrian composer's life, adds a media component to this jewel of the repertoire.
It has never been discovered who commissioned the work through a mysterious emissary dressed in black (there is talk of an envoy from Count Franz von Walsegg). There is also debate about how a part of the work was completed after Mozart's death.
This production of the Orquestra de Cambra de Mallorca presents a Requiem that will be accompanied by a lighting montage that will emphasize the drama of this mass for the dead, thus generating a multisensory experience so that all audiences have a more direct approach to this work.
With musical direction by Bernat Quetglas and stage and lighting direction by Joan Manel Albinyana, Marta Bauzà (soprano), Marisa Roca (mezzo), José Manuel Sánchez (tenor) and Joan Miquel Muñoz (baritone) take part as soloists. With the participation of the Cor del Teatre Principal, directed by Pere Víctor Rado.
