Orquesta Buena Vista Club Social

The legendary Cuban band arrives at Port Adriano within their farewell world tour to the stage. Farewell Tour, which is the name coincides with the release of the new album Lost and Found  (2015), consisting of a set of previously unreleased songs. Some of them were recorded in their first sessions in Havana.

Buena Vista Social Club was a social club where members practiced activities related to dance and music. In the 90s, almost 50 years after this club was shut, it inspired a recording of the Cuban musician Juan de Marcos González and American guitarist Ry Cooder with traditional Cuban musicians. They called it Buena Vista Social Club, and was an international success. German director Wim Wenders made a documentary titled with the name of the acclaimed group and won, among others, the award for Best Documentary at the European Film Awards.

Under the musical direction of Jesus 'Aguaje' Ramos (bandleader and trombonist), the formation of Farewell Tour will feature several musicians who participated on the album and the film as Omara Portuondo (voice), Guajiro Mirabal (trumpet) and Barbarito Torres (lute).

They are accompanied by some of the musicians who over the years have joined the project, as Papi Oviedo, pianist Rolando Luna, Pedro Pablo (bass), Andrew Coyao (congas), Filiberto Sánchez (drums), Alberto 'Night '(bongos), Luis Allemany (trumpet) and percussionist and singer Idania Valdes. The repertoire consists of Cuban sounds, guajira, danzón, bolero, cha cha cha and rumba.
