'Orfeu als inferns'

Art Vocal Ensemble presents this version of the famous comic opera by Jacques Offenbach (Colonia, 1819-París, 1880). Premiered in Paris in 1858, Orphée aux enfers  (its original title in French) criticizes at the pace of can-can the double standards of the bourgeois society of his time. The Catalan adaptation of Jaume Roca situates it in our reality and social and political situation.

Since its inception, the Mallorcan formation Art Vocal Ensemble has set a goal to inform the public of stage music from some works that are seldom performed, usuallyof  the comic genre, in small format and adapted to current reality.
