The Orchestral Encounters of the Balearic Islands were created in 2018 to provide young people between 15 and 25 years old the possibility of training in the world of the orchestra. Usually a symphonic repertoire is tackled with more than 60 musicians on stage to give all possible young people the maximum opportunity.
However, on this occasion, due to the health crisis, the proposed repertoire is a classical format orchestra of about 30 musicians.
The program consists of Symphony No. 86 in D major, by Haydn; and Symphony no. 39 in E flat major (25'-30 '), by Mozart.
This year's faculty is Barry Sargent (for string), Josep Tatay (for brass) and Bernat Quetglas as assistant conductor.
