The Dionís Bennàssar Gallery in Pollença presents this solo exhibition by Syrian artist Jorge Azri (Hasake, 1961). Trained in the pictorial environment of Madrid - he is a member of the Círculo de Bellas Artes in the capital -, he currently lives between Mallorca and Los Angeles (USA) dedicating himself exclusively to his painting, highly valued in the international art scene.
In Olas del Mediterráneo (Waves of the Mediterranean), the human figures that populate the seascape in attitudes typical of his time, are reminiscent of the paintings of Brueghel the Elder. A photographic vision is distorted and a representation of the space inhabited by light, almost Velazqueño.
