Open days at the Centre de Poesia Contemporània Blai Bonet on the ocassion of the Balearic Islands Day. This space is dedicated to the figure of Blai Bonet i Rigo (1926-1997), one of the essential writers of literature and culture of Mallorca. Key author in literary recovery of the post war and the opening of ways of renovation, his influence was felt in both contemporary writers and in later generations. Most of his literary production was concentrated on Poetry but he also wrote five novels and a play.
The Centre de Poesia Contemporània Blai Bonet is sponsored by the Fundació Casa Museu Villalonga with the cooperation of the City Council of Santanyi, it is installed on the second floor of la Casa de Cultura Ses Cases Noves, albeit transient. The Consell de Mallorca is planning the creation of the Casa Museu Blai Bonet in which was the home of the writer.
The Centre offers an exhibition on his life and work, filing and documentation around the figure of Blai Bonet and contemporary poetry.
