This chant is one of the few living examples of medieval folklore which only survives in Mallorca and Alghero (city of the Italian island of Sardinia where Catalan is spoken). It is celebrated in the churches of Mallorca on the Christmas Eve church service, but the most beautiful and spectacular can be seen at the cathedral of Palma.
